Providing the Highest Quality Care for Your Pets
Since 1998, Walnut Creek Animal Hospital & Pet Resort in Purcell, OK has provided the highest quality, comprehensive veterinary care for small animals, while ensuring our services are affordable for pet-owners. Our experienced, knowledgeable team utilizes our professional, modern facility to provide your pet with the care he or she deserves to maintain health and wellness. From boarding to dentistry to surgeries, here, your pet will have access to a wide range of veterinary services.
Below are some of the many treatments and services we provide for your small pets.
We provide complete, nose-to-tail examinations for your pet to catch any developing health issues as early as possible. Our team completes a risk assessment for each individual pet for health maintenance purposes. At these examinations, we will also provide any necessary vaccinations, prescriptions which can be filled in house or through VetSource online pharmacy, and blood work using in-house IDEXX blood analyzers. We understand exams can be stressful for pets, so we always treat them with gentle, loving care so they can feel relaxed and at-ease.
At Walnut Creek Animal Hospital & Pet Resort, we utilize the safest, most current three-year vaccines and long-acting preventatives available. We will create a vaccination schedule that works for your pet based on his or her breed, age, size, and individual health risks. Vaccinations are essential for protecting your pet from harmful and potentially deadly diseases!
Our veterinarians perform a range of surgeries, from simple, low-cost spay and neuter procedures to emergency soft-tissue surgeries. We offer elective and cosmetic surgeries as well as orthopedics correction for fractures and ligament injuries. For example, we have experience with plating, pinning, ACL reconstruction, tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy (TPLO), and hip reductions. During surgeries, to keep your pet as comfortable as possible, we provide anesthetics and use advanced anesthetic monitoring.
We use several advanced diagnostic methods, including:
Digital radiography, or digital x-rays, are a safer and more effective alternative to traditional x-rays. They expose your pet to up to 90% less radiation, and they allow us to view images immediately on a computer monitor. Plus, we are able to store and share images with ease if needed. Digital x-rays help us to detect developing problems that can’t be seen with the naked eye, and we especially use this technique for dental purposes.
Our ultrasound technology provides us with diagnostic imaging in-house. This is a comfortable and effective procedure for pets and helps us to see and diagnose developing problems as soon as possible.
BAER Testing: Hearing Testing for Puppies
Brain Auditory Evoked Response (BAER) testing is used to evaluate hearing in dogs. While it can be performed on dogs of any ages, it is most commonly utilized as a hearing test for puppies of certain breeds that are at risk for hearing impairments. These breeds may includes (but are not limited to): dalmatians, English cocker spaniels, Australian cattle dogs, English setters, and Jack Russell terriers. Responsible breeders of these breeds have the puppies screened to ensure the puppies have no hearing impairments, especially before adding to a breeding program.
We are the only veterinary practice in the area to offer this diagnostic service! For any questions, feel free to contact us.
We provide a wide range of reproductive services for pets, including artificial insemination, semen analysis, surgical insemination with fresh, chilled and frozen semen, and estrous cycle staging. These services allow for safe and effective breeding.
Healthy teeth are important to your pet’s overall health! Our team provides advanced services, including dental digital radiology for diagnostic purposes. These x-rays create images that help us diagnose periodontal disease and abnormalities below the gum line that we cannot see during a teeth cleaning. We also provide restorative therapy for fractured teeth to help your pet have a strong and functional bite.
Our professional, innovative healing treatments include:
Laser therapy offers a noninvasive approach that provides rapid healing as well as anti-inflammatory benefits. Laser therapy can be used to treat a wide range of ailments and is especially effective for pain management.
Stem Cell Therapy
Stem cell therapy is the most current approach for healing and is especially used to reduce symptoms of osteoarthritis.
If you are going away, you can trust that with our boarding services, your pet will be kept happy and healthy during their entire visit. We offer luxury boarding facilities in a large suite style. Outside we provide large runs for pets to play. We ensure that cats and dogs are kept separate for a stress-free environment. We can also provide any medications or meet any dietary accommodations; just let us know ahead of time.
