Dr. Bryan D. Wright
Dr. Bryan D. Wright is the practice owner and lead veterinarian at Walnut Creek. Dr. Wright attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University for his undergraduate education and was accepted to the Veterinary program at Oklahoma State University in 1993. He graduated with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and soon began practicing in Purcell. Dr. Wright’s founding clinic was in a rental property on Green Avenue near Purcell’s Walnut Creek, hence the name. In October 2006 work began on a new state-of-the-art facility in our current location just 2 miles south on Highway 74.
Dr. Wright loves outdoor family time with his wife, Juleigh, and their three children: Nick, Carson, and Logan. They have three pets: Fergie, Grey, and Forrest. His newest hobby is tracking with his black and tan hound, Forrest.
Dr. Wright loves the variety of medicine he is able to perform as a veterinarian and he also loves the challenges that they bring. Veterinary medicine is a career that requires him to be a surgeon, a dentist, a reproduction specialist, a general practitioner, and an internist—to name a few. He enjoys performing orthopedic surgery most, as he is driven to fix things that are broken. Dr. Wright’s goal is to utilize his God-given abilities to help people and their pets, and he does not take that lightly.
Dr. Lena Copass
Dr. Lena Copass is our newest addition to the Walnut Creek family. Lena (Clagg) Copass grew up on a farm west of Wayne. Helping her dad with the family’s cow/calf operation sparked her interest in veterinary medicine at a young age. As she matured, she realized that medicine is not just about the animals, but also the people they belong to.
After graduating from Wayne, Lena did her undergraduate studies at Redlands Community College and Oklahoma Panhandle State University. She then began her veterinary journey at Oklahoma State University and graduated with a doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2016.
Dr. Copass’ first encounter at Walnut Creek was during her preceptorship in April of 2016. Her admiration of Dr. Wright’s style of practice is one of many reasons she is thrilled to be a part of the Walnut Creek family as well as being able to move back to her hometown. Dr. Copass’ hobbies include playing the piano at church, riding horses, and spending time with her family. Dr. Lena recently married her husband Brandon, becoming Dr. Lena Copass. They live on a farm with their two dogs, Ginger and Smiles, and their cat, Whiskers.
Micki Cottrell, RVT, VDT
Micki has been at Walnut Creek since 2005. Micki has always had a love for animals and passion for science. Pairing the two together was obvious for her! She began volunteering at a veterinary clinic and quickly knew it was what she should pursue. Micki attended college at Murray State and graduated in 2000 with a degree in veterinary technology. Micki loves the connection between people and their pets. Taking care of both is her passion. Micki lives in Paoli with her husband, Greg and their son, Jake. They enjoy family time together showing sheep. They have many farm animals, three dogs, Shortie, Miles, and Dolly and two cats, Ruckus and Nadi.
Stephanie Moore, RVT
Stephanie is a Purcell native. Stephanie lives in the country and has had pets as long as she can remember. Stephanie began working at Walnut Creek many years ago when she started college at OSU/OKC in the veterinary technology program. She graduated in 2006 and eventually went to Oklahoma State Teaching Hospital in the surgical department. She came back to Walnut Creek about two years ago and has fit right back in. Stephanie enjoys the challenges faced with handling fearful pets as well as assisting in surgery. Stephanie enjoys spending her free time at the lake and with her Jeep Club friends. She currently has two Scottish Terriers, Fergus and MacAndrew and a cat, Joe Purry. She is on the lookout for the perfect German Shepherd pup to begin training as a therapy dog.
Crystal Haney, RVT
Crystal is new to the Walnut Creek family and we are excited to have her as a member of our team. Crystal knew since she was 12 years old that she had a passion for animal care. She graduated OSU-OKC in 2017 and became a Registered Veterinary Technician. Crystal loves the physical and mental challenge of working in a veterinary clinic. She is passionate about dental care, and she loves sending pets home with pearly white teeth. Crystal lives in Blanchard with her husband, Robert. They have four children, Austin, Sheridan, Kamryn, and Jax and two four-legged kids, Charlee and Winnie, both dachshunds.
SKYE HOUSLEY, RVT
Skye Housley started working at Silver Leaf in April 2016. She went to vet tech school and loved it. She enjoys lab work and helping hospital patients, as well as assisting with surgeries and recovery. She has two cats, Jasper and Bella. Skye likes relaxing with her kitties, cooking, knitting and reading.
Fahey has been a receptionist at Walnut Creek since 2010. Fahey had recently moved back to Oklahoma from Delaware when she was encouraged to apply for the job. Fahey enjoys seeing all the different breeds of dogs and cats as well as teaching owners about taking good care of their pets. Fahey has 11 dogs at home! She enjoys spending time with her husband, Erick and their dogs Stella, Tony, Puppie, Quinn, Roadside, Abby, Bean, Gus, Hazel, Ester, Casper, a rooster named Kevin and a tortoise named Nip.
Dr. Bryan D. Wright founded Walnut Creek Animal Hospital in July 1998. He came to Purcell with the vision of providing the highest quality veterinary care for pets, while maintaining the small-town atmosphere at the most affordable cost available. Ever since then, we have worked very hard to care for our clients’ pets in this manner. We began in a small rental building on Green Ave, adjacent to Walnut Creek; hence the name was born. We practiced there until October 2006, when we built a state-of-the-art facility in its current location just two miles south on Hwy 74. In 2008 the practice grew into a multi-doctor practice to keep up with the growth. This past June we introduced our newest staff veterinarian, Dr. Lena (Clagg) Copass. Both Dr. Wright and Dr. Copass work daily to continue the highest standard of care for our community pets.
