Dr. Wright

For Dr. Wright, a career in veterinary medicine has made perfect sense ever since he was a young boy—what other job would allow him to learn something new every day while using his natural abilities to help people and their pets? Dr. Wright’s dream never wavered, and now he’s been serving the area’s pets and animal parents as the owner and chief veterinarian of Walnut Creek Animal Hospital for nearly 20 years!

Dr. Wright is originally from Moore, Oklahoma and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University to earn his undergraduate degree. Next, he was accepted into veterinary school at Oklahoma State University and earned his Doctorate in 1997. Dr. Wright then relocated to Purcell to start a family, and it wasn’t long before he had founded Walnut Creek Animal Hospital to provide the area with his brand of high-quality, client-centered pet care—he’s been here ever since.

At home, Dr. Wright, his wife, and their three children share their lives with a trio of pets: a Schnoodle named Fergie; Grey the cat; and a rescued Bloodhound named Forrest. Forrest can track anything that he’s shown, and it’s inspired Dr. Wright to take up tracking as a hobby!

Dr. Lena Copass

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Lena Copass grew up on a farm west of Wayne, and always found herself fascinated when the local veterinarian came to tend to the family’s cattle, horses, and dogs. As she got older, Dr. Copass started to realize something: veterinary medicine is as much about the people as it is about the pets! She knew that she wanted to become a veterinarian herself in order to help the area’s families and their beloved companions at the same time.

Dr. Copass earned her veterinary degree from Oklahoma State University before starting her career as a mixed-animal practitioner at a clinic in Ada, Oklahoma. Having spent some time working alongside Dr. Wright on a preceptorship in the spring of 2016, she jumped at the chance to join him again at his very own veterinary clinic. Dr. Copass became a member of the Walnut Creek Animal Hospital family in May of 2017, and is thrilled to continue her veterinary journey by serving the area’s pets and animal parents as an Associate Veterinarian.

As a veterinarian, Dr. Copass has a particular fondness for internal medicine cases and the unique challenges that they present. Most of all, she enjoys educating her clientele on proper pet care—knowing that she’s making a true difference in the community is especially rewarding!

In her time away from the hospital, Dr. Copass enjoys horseback riding, helping with her family’s cow/calf operation, playing the piano, and spending quality time with her family. She and her husband, Brandon, live with one pet of their own at home: a dog named Ginger who loves going for rides at the family farm.
